You need to look for foods high in\nantioxidants, which include blueberries, artichoke, blackberries, spinach,\nkale, arugula, and more. These anti-inflammatory foods can help your body\nhandle the healing process in a more efficient way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Protein (No Red Meat)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When you suffer from a soft tissue injury, you want to make\nsure that you retain as much of your muscle mass as possible. After all, you\nwant to make up lost ground and get back to full strength sooner rather than\nlater. That\u2019s where protein comes in. Ideal protein sources include eggs, fish,\nchicken, low-fat dairy, soy, chia seeds, beans, and quinoa. As an added plus, kidney\nbeans and pecans are loaded with antioxidants as well. Try to avoid red meat\nand processed meats because they can actually worsen inflammation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Healthy Fats<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Although you may be tempted by sugary, carb-rich, fatty\nfoods, now is not the time to indulge too much. If you allow yourself to eat\nthese kinds of processed foods, you\u2019ll only be encouraging damaging inflammation.\nFor your sanity, every once in a while, one of these treats will likely not\nharm your body, but it\u2019s important to keep this type of consumption to a\nminimum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not all fat is bad for your body. Unsaturated fats and\nomega-3 fatty acids\u2014in foods like salmon, avocados, nuts and nut butters\u2014fight\ninflammation. For cooking, choose your oils carefully, because even avocado oil\nand sesame oil contain pro-inflammatory acids. Instead, use flaxseed oil for\nlow heat and walnut oil for high heat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t let this injury, whether it requires just a few days\nor a few months of healing, derail you on your journey to a healthier\nlifestyle.
